Blanche F. Hansen, age 91, formerly of Parkers Prairie, died Monday, July 5, 2010, at Cerenity Care Center in White Bear Lake, Minnesota.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, July 8, 2010, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie with Rev. Kirk Lee officiating. Music will be provided by organist, Maureen Diedrich and vocalist, Dedra Zwieg. Burial will take place at the Parkers Prairie Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12 noon until the time of the service at the church.

Blanche Frieda was born January 31, 1919, to Matthias and Mabel (Hagedorn) Horst in Brandon, Minnesota. She attended country school in Brandon where she grew up. Following her education she helped raise her siblings following her mother's early death. She was united in marriage to Lloyd Victor Hansen on November 22, 1939. Following their marriage she provided childcare and cleaned homes in the Parkers Prairie area. She also helped her husband in the meat locker business in Parkers Prairie and Battle Lake. Her husband, Lloyd died on October 3, 1973. Blanche continued living in Parkers Prairie until 2006, when she moved to live with her daughter, Evelyn's family in Lino Lakes, Minnesota. She moved into Senior Select Care in Coon Rapids in May of 2009, where she resided until the time of her death. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Her pastimes included playing rummy, bingo and baking.
Blanche is survived by three daughters, Lucille Ogden of San Francisco, California, Dorothy "Dot" (Steven) Heifort of Lexington, Minnesota and Evelyn "Evie" (Steven) Sonkowsky of Lino Lakes; a son, Leon (Marsha) Hansen of Henning, Minnesota; son-in-law, John Ahmann of St. Cloud; three granddaughters, Crystal (Shawn) Quarberg of Blaine, Minnesota, Lauren (fianc?, Phill Martin) Sonkowsky of Lino Lakes and Stephanie (Jason) Brehm of Blaine; two grandsons, Isaac Hansen of Fergus Falls and Daniel (Laura) Sonkowsky of Andover, Minnesota; and a great-grandson, Maverick Brehm.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd; two daughters, infant,Shirley Mae Hansen and Elaine Ahmann; brother, Warren "Smokey" Horst; sister, Ione Pischke, grandson, Joshua Heifort and son-in-law, Daniel Ogden.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Sonkowsky, Phill Martin, Jason Brehm, Shawn Quarberg, Dennis Klimek and Roy Kraemer. Honorary pallbearers will be Crystal Quarberg, Stephanie Brehm, Lauren Sonkowsky, Laura Sonkowsky, Isaac Hansen and Maverick Brehm.
