MILTONA - William ''Bill'' Dale Hager, age 75, of Miltona, MN formerly of St Clair, MN died Thursday, December 23, 2010, at Knut Nelson Assisted Living in Alexandria, MN after a short hospice stay.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 28, 2010, at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Alexandria. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Monday at Lind Family Funeral Home in Miltona. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Pastor Michael Neumann will officiate the service.

A second visitation will be Wednesday, December 29, 2010, from 1 - 2:30 p.m., at St. John's Ev Lutheran Church in St Clair, MN with burial following at the church cemetery. Lind Family Funeral & Cremation Service, www.lindfamilyfh.com is in charge of arrangements.

Bill was born December 8, 1935, in McPherson Township, Blue Earth Co., MN, the only son of Ernest and Esther (Schroeder) Hager. Bill attended school in St Clair, MN graduating in 1953. He furthered his education at Mankato Commercial College. He drove school bus for the St Clair School District for nearly 20 years. On September 23, 1958, he joined Mary Jane Emilie Verschelde in marriage at St John's Ev Lutheran Church in St Clair. Bill and Mary Jane purchased his parents Hardware Store in St Clair early on in their marriage. They worked side by side until they sold the business in 1978. From 1980 to 1985, Bill and Mary Jane purchased and ran a local family restaurant called "The Diner". "The Diner" soon became the local gathering place for meetings, confirmations, parties and many ''re-played'' high school ball games. He enjoyed sports and coached two women's softball league teams, Hager Hardware and St. Clair Loco's during the 1970's and 1980's. Bill operated the "Master Plan" Hearing Center in Mankato until his retirement in 1995. In 1997, Bill and Mary Jane retired and moved to Lake Miltona to help their son & daughter-in-law with their resort business. Bill was very active in his church and spent many hours a day reading Scripture. Bill sang with the St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church choir for 50 years. Bill enjoyed FAMILY, fishing, hunting, reading stories to his grandchildren along with telling stories to all that will listen. Bill's true talent was conversation; he never turned down a good visit.

Bill is survived by his wife Mary Jane "Janie" of Miltona, MN; three children: Clay (Linda) Hager of Miltona, MN; Lani (Paul) Latusek of Minnesota Lake, MN; Aaron (Rachel) Hager of Eagle Lake; 5 Grandchildren: Collin and Amelia Hager; Timothy and Jared Latusek; Makayla Hager; and special niece Stephanie (Doug) Sack of St Clair.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Ralph Marti, Verlin Dahmes, Steve Brown, Al Dahl, Craig Rasmussen and Darold Zimmer.
