Arthur T. Koep, age 94, of Parkers Prairie, died Monday, July 26, 2010, at Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m., Friday, July 30, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Urbank with Rev. LeRoy Scheierl serving as celebrant. Music will be provided by the church choir. Burial will take place at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. with 7 p.m., parish prayers at the church Thursday and continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Arthur Theodore Koep was born May 16, 1916, to Peter E. and Barbara E. (Reger) Koep in Leaf Mountain Township. He attended Sacred Heart School in Urbank. He was united in marriage to Evelyn Danelke on October 27, 1937 at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Millerville. They lived on a farm in Effington Township until 2005, when they moved to Parkers Prairie. Besides farming, Arthur hauled milk for the Urbank Creamery, served on the Urbank Creamery Board and painted houses and barns with Leo Klimek and Charles "Hammerhead" Hartman. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Urbank. He enjoyed visits with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, hunting, fishing, church dinners and rides in the country.

Arthur is survived by his wife of 72 years, Evelyn; son, Roman (Judy) Koep of Parkers Prairie; two daughters, Margie (LeRoy) Thoennes and Carol (Alvin) Hellerman both of Parkers Prairie; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; three sisters, Carolyn Bettin and Viola Klimek of Urbank and Evelyn Roers of Alexandria.

Arthur is preceded in death by his parents; two infant sons and an infant daughter; four brothers, Edmond, Alfred, George and Harry; two sisters, Eleanor and Helen; many in-laws and good friend, Leo Klimek.

Pallbearers will Bob Koep, Dustin Koep, Kevin Hellerman, Bill Thoennes, Steve Thoennes, Randy Thoennes and Terri Thoennes. Honorary pallbearers will Earl and Goldie Mittag, Vernon and Luella Stramer and his remaining grandchildren.
