Arlys was born on June 16, 1938, to Arvin & Gertrude (Lockrem) Hanson in Clearbrook, Minnesota. Her family then moved to Thief River Falls, Minnesota where she attended Lincoln High School and met her high school sweetheart, Jerry (Jerald) Hendrickson. Jerry and Arlys were married, made their home, and raised their family in Thief River Falls. In 1992, Jerry and Arlys moved to Alexandria, Minnesota. They had 65 beautiful years together up until Jerry’s passing on September 4, 2021. Together they created a close-knit family, owned businesses, enjoyed traveling, and formed lifelong friendships.

She was also a talented seamstress & quilter and enjoyed making beautiful gifts for her loved ones.
Arlys and Jerry were members of Alexandria Covenant Church, where they met many dear friends. They also enjoyed spending winters in warmer climates, often joined by family and friends. Arlys was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
