Arlene Lorraine was born on August 26, 1925, to Henry and Minnie (Finstad) Wojahn in Dundas. She was baptized in Gibbon and later confirmed alongside her brother, Elmo. Arlene grew up in Comfrey, attending Country School District #76 in Brown County. She continued her education for one year at the St. Paul University Farm School. She then worked at the St. James 313 Café and at Tony Downs Oiling Eggs, where she prepared eggs for servicemen during World War II for 4 ½ years. In the early 1950s, Arlene moved to Sleepy Eye, where she worked at Pietrus Produce and the Del Monte Canning Factory. It was during this time that she met Lyndon Skolberg, and the two were united in marriage on January 23, 1951, in St. Cloud. They made their home in Fairfax, where Arlene owned and operated Lyndy’s Café for many years. Following retirement, Arlene and Lyndon lived in Buffalo Lake and Franklin before moving full time to Miltona in 1991. After Lyndon’s death on September 6, 1997, Arlene continued living on Lake Miltona until January 2025, when she moved to Bethany on the Lake in Alexandria. Arlene enjoyed embroidering, crocheting, reading, listening to all kinds of music, and traveling. She especially loved spending time with her family and was affectionately considered a “gramma” to many of her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lyndon; four brothers, Elmo (Avis), Carl (Esther), Raymond, and Harry; sister, Helen (Robert) Schroeder; sister-in-law, Emy Wojahn; and several nieces and nephews.

Arlene is survived by her brother Paul Wojahn of New Ulm; two sisters, Myra (Rodney) Damm of Hackensack and Luella (Gerald) Peterson of Miltona; sister-in-law, Ruth Wojahn of Sleepy Eye; along with many nieces and nephews.
