Arlene J. Bettin, 63, of Parkers Prairie, died Saturday, December 12, 2009, at Lakeland Hospice House in Fergus Falls.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m., Friday, December 18, 2009, at St. Williams Catholic Church in Parkers Prairie with Rev. Le Roy Scheierl officiating. Music will be provided by the organist, Kim Byrnes, church choir and vocalist, Ross Ukkelberg. Burial will take place at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., with a 7 p.m., prayer service, Thursday at St. Williams Catholic Church. The visitation will continue one hour prior to the service.

Arlene Jane Bettin was born April 18, 1946, to Ervin Chester and Alfa Ida (Lenz) Lind in Parkers Prairie. She grew up in Parkers Prairie, attended public school and graduated from Parkers Prairie High School in 1964. She was united in marriage to Frank Henry Bettin February 5, 1966, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Urbank. Following their marriage they lived in the Twin Cities where she worked as a printer. They returned to Parkers Prairie in 1970, where she and her husband owned Frank's Quick Stop. She worked as a printer in Alexandria before taking time off work to raise her family. She was an integral staff member in the set-up of the Alexandria Wal-Mart store where she worked until her early retirement due to disability. Following her retirement, she enjoyed being at home. She was diagnosed with cancer in January of 2009, and was able to stay in her home because of the love and care of her family. She was a member of St. Williams Catholic Church and its Christian Mothers. She loved spending time with family and friends, especially Tuesdays as it was "girl's night". She was an avid Vikings and Twins fan. She enjoyed watching movies, playing cards, sewing, traveling, and spending time at the family cabin. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Arlene is survived by her husband, Frank; mother, Alfa Lind of Parkers Prairie; two sons, Troy (Sue) Bettin of Corcoran, Minnesota and Monty (Michelle) Bettin of St. Joseph, Minnesota; daughter, Beth (Kevin) Koep of Urbank; three sisters, Sandi (Jim) Dittberner of Leaf Valley, Ellen (LeRoy) Heyda of New Prague and JoAnn (Dennis) Stende of Parkers Prairie; 11 grandchildren, Nicoli Bettin, Savanah Bettin, Eli Bettin, Jonah Bettin, Alisha Bettin, Austin Bettin, Alec Bettin, Madalynn Bettin, Jaycee Koep, Colin Koep and Abigail Koep; her mother-in-law, Caroline Bettin of Urbank; along with many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father, Ervin Lind; a brother, Ernest Lind and her father-in-law, George Bettin.

Pallbearers will be Chris Heyda, Jesse Stende, Chad Bettin, Kyle Bettin, Cole Nirschl, Todd Davis, Joe Adams and Jason Theusch. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
