Arlene F. Becker, age 84, of Paynesville, formerly of Miltona, died on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at Paynesville Health Care Center.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 19, 2022, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Belle River with Fr. Dave Petron officiating. Music is provided by pianist, Jane Herth and vocalist, Janice Dober. Interment will take place at the church cemetery.
Visitation is one hour prior to the service.
Arlene Frances was born on March 24, 1937, to Andrew and Frances (Hainzl) Becker on the family farm near Miltona. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Nicholas Catholic Church. Arlene attended School District 64, Miltona Elementary School, and graduated from Central High School in Alexandria. Following her education, she remained on the family farm where she raised pure-breed and part-breed Arabian horses with her business, “Becker’s Arabians”. Arlene also showed her horses at local county fairs and horse shows throughout Minnesota. Due to her declining health, she moved into a living center in Clarissa. Arlene later relocated to a long-term care center in Paynesville where she lived the remainder of her life. Arlene was a former member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, several horse clubs, and many animal rescue groups. She enjoyed growing flowers and loved all animals.
She was preceded in death by her parents; aunt and uncle, Leona and Merton Willette; along with many other aunts and uncles.
Arlene is survived by her brother, Dr. Clifford Becker of Eden Prairie.
Serving as casket bearers will be Jerry Hammer, Wayne Mernak, Brad Lusty, Carolyn Hammer, and Susan Mrnak.
