Anne Elvira Holm, age 94, of Alexandria, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, July 7, 2025, at Grand Arbor.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the Alexandria Covenant Church with Rev. Gregg Donnelly officiating. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Alexandria.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m., on Friday, July 18th, at Lind Family Funeral Home in Alexandria and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Anne was born on December 30, 1930, to Ludwig and Carrie (Lagerquist) Larson in Minneapolis. The family lived on a small farm in the Maple Plain area until 1940, when they moved to a larger farm in the Enfield area. Anne attended Elementary School District #121 and began high school in Monticello. In 1946, the family returned to Maple Plain. Anne graduated from Mound High School in 1948. Following high school, she worked in the office at Foley Manufacturing Company for two years. She enrolled at Bethel College in St. Paul where she earned an Associate of Arts Degree in 1952. Anne then attended and graduated from the University of Minnesota where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education in 1954. She taught in the Robbinsdale, Bloomington, and Minneapolis schools. She was united in marriage to Ellsworth Holm on June 18,1955, at Central Evangelical Free Church in Minneapolis. Following their marriage, they were blessed with three sons, Daniel, David and Douglas. Anne continued teaching in the Twin Cities until moving to Alexandria in 1964, where she continued teaching until her retirement in 1995. Anne’s faith in Jesus was the cornerstone of her life and she lived it out as an active Sunday School teacher for over 50 years, singing in the church choir, active in women’s ministries, Awana listener and leader of children’s singing. She was a former member of Cornerstone Church and current member of Alexandria Covenant Church. Anne enjoyed baking, crossword puzzles, and crafting.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Betty (Lawrence) Stinson, and Delores (Ron) Quittem; two brothers, Harry (Miriam) Larson and Donald Larson; and brother-in-law, Leonard Nyholm.

Anne is survived by her husband of 70 years, Ellsworth; three sons, Daniel (Cynthia) of Plymouth, David (Lynette) and Douglas (Nancy) both of Alexandria; seven grandchildren, Carrie (Tyler) Jeremy (Kelsey), Sarah (Markus), Kendra, Brittany (Mike), Brendan, and Brianna; seven great-grandchildren, Kasen, Nyah, Aidan, Olivia, Elijah, Luke, and Graham; sister, Karen Nyholm and sister-in-law, Marion Larson both of the Twin Cities; along with many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Jeremy Holm, Brendan Holm, Sarah Yager, Kendra Holm, Brianna Holm, Tyler Harberts, Kasen Holm and Mike Wing. Honorary pallbearers are Grand Arbor Staff, Vivie Hospice, and Beth Kotchman.
