Alvina Faber

Alvina M. Faber, age 94, of Miltona, died on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at the St. William's Living Center in Parkers Prairie.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 17, 2017, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, West Miltona with Rev. Kirk Lee officiating. Burial is at Parkers Prairie Cemetery.

Visitation is 6-8 p.m., Friday, June 16, 2017, at Lind Family Funeral Home in Parkers Prairie and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Alvina Mary Krause was born on October 4, 1922, to William and Mary (Witte) Krause on the family farm. She attended school at Miltona District #55 and graduated from the 8th grade. After school she worked as a housekeeper for homes in the nearby area and helped out on the family farm. Alvina married Edward “Ed” Faber on October 14, 1943, at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in West Miltona. The couple settled down on a farm adjacent to where Alvina grew up and raised their four children. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, St. Paul’s Ladies Aide, and the Miltona Merry Makers. Alvina enjoyed crocheting, knitting, gardening, photography, baking, crafting, and spending time with her family.

Alvina is survived by her daughter Emily Faber of Miltona; two sons, Ben (Mary) Faber of Blaine and Ken (Marge) Faber of Ham Lake; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Edward Faber; daughter, Louise; parents, William and Mary Krause; sisters, Eleanor Jante and Esther Faber; and brother, Lawrence Krause.

Pallbearers are Kelly Hawkinson, Leon Krause, Peter Couture, Harlan Faber, Duane Faber, Frank Hoppe, Brian Hiltner, and John Bring. Honorary pallbearers are Jackie Hiltner, Jenny Bring, Pedrina and Todd Brocklesby, Leigh Mattox, Richard and Kathy Faber, and Loel and Lori Hawkinson.
