Richard H. "Dick" Kuehn, age 77, of Lake Miltona, died Wednesday, August 19, 2015, at his home following a courageous battle with cancer.

Memorial Services are 11 a.m., Saturday, August 22, 2015, at Faith Lutheran Church in Miltona with Rev. John Riggle officiating. Music is provided by organist, Kevin Lee and vocalist, Dedra Zwieg.

Visitation is 6-8 p.m., Friday at Lind Family Funeral Home in Alexandria and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Richard Howard "Dick" Kuehn was born August 26, 1937, to Earl and Esther (Quaschnick) Kuehn in Bismarck, North Dakota. During his childhood years, his family lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Puget Sound, Washington, among various other places. He graduated from St. Cloud State University with a Bachelor's Degree and completed his education with a Master's Degree in Physics and Math at the University of Minnesota. He was united in marriage to Sharon Nelson June 14, 1958, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Alexandria. Following their marriage they lived in Robbinsdale before moving to Circle Pines where he began teaching at Centennial High School in 1961. During those years, Dick also worked as a realtor and finished his teaching career at Edina Schools. Dick took an early retirement in 1991, and built a home on Lake Miltona, where he and Sharon lived and enjoyed the past 24 years together. He was an active member of the Miltona area, serving on the church council at Faith Lutheran Church, and Team Miltona. Dick was past president of the Lake Miltona Lake Association and Douglas County Lake Association. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his son and grandchildren. Dick and his family were especially appreciative of the comfort and care provided by Horizon Public Health and Hospice of Douglas County.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Douglas and Curtis; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Kuehn and father and mother-in-law, Peter and Adeline Gaber.

Dick is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sharon; three daughters, Kristi (John) Haider of Louisville, Kentucky, Kelli Kuehn of St. Louis Park and Kari ( Michael) Smeed of White Bear Lake; son, Kerry Kuehn of St. Anthony; sister, Karm (Loren) Klimek of Casa Grande, Arizona; five grandchildren, Kaila, Joshua, Abbey, Connor and Alex; along with several nieces and nephews.

Urnbearers are his grandchildren.
