Lynnette “Lynn” M. Kalina, age 66, of Lowry, died Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at St. Cloud Hospital.

Funeral services are 11 a.m., Monday, March 27, 2017, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lowry with Rev. Joe Skogmo officiating. Music is provided by pianist, Judi Dahlseng and vocalist, Kristin Stone. Burial is at Kinkead Cemetery, Alexandria.

Visitation is 5-7 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Sunday at Lind Family Funeral Home in Alexandria. The visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Lynnette Marie (Thunee) Kalina was born on February 22, 1951, to Millan and Lillian (Hogenson) Thunee in Crookston. She was baptized on April 1, 1951, at Faaberg Lutheran Church in Rindal and confirmed in August of 1966, at First Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie. She attended Fertile School through the 7th grade and graduated from Parkers Prairie High School where she was active in 4-H, playing clarinet in band, and choir. Following her graduation she attended Brainerd School of Cosmetology. Lynn owned and operated beauty shops in Glenwood and Starbuck. Lynn was united in marriage to Calvin Kalina on November 7, 1970, at First Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie. Following their marriage, Lynn worked at few retail stores while working with her husband on the family farm as an accountant. She was a longtime member of First Lutheran Church in Alexandria. Lynn enjoyed going to casinos and was known for always having a lucky streak. She also enjoyed sewing, cooking, and baking, always making sure no one left the table hungry. Lynn loved traveling with her husband and especially enjoyed their trip to Rome. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Millan; and brother-in-law, Gary Hayden.

Lynn is survived by her husband of 46 years, Calvin; two daughters, Katerri (Shawn) Fish and Kierra (Eric) Olness both of Lowry; son, Courtny (Heather) Kalina of Lowry; mother, Lillian Thunee of Alexandria; sister, Paulette Hayden of Rosemount; six grandsons, Hudson, Easton, and Hayden Kalina, Addison and Andren Olness, and Cade Fish; and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are her grandsons.
