Elaine was born on March 24, 1942, to Walter and Laura (Peterson) Anderson in Alexandria. Elaine is survived by her children, Clinton Olive, Steven Olive, Kristina Sherrett, and Karen Murray; son-in-law, Len Murray; daughter-in-law Heidi Olive; and her immediate siblings, Glenn Anderson, Ronnie Anderson, David Anderson, and Carol Reed.
Elaine's foremost passion was her love and service to her Savior Jesus Christ. Out of this love flowed her desire to serve people. Elaine had a long and fulfilling career as a registered nurse. She loved being a nurse. She always went over and above in service to her patients working mainly in Intensive Care units where the need was great. She retired in her long career locally at Douglas County Hospital in 2008.
Elaine also had years of loving service to the church. Through these years she enjoyed working with the neediest and hurting. She worked with the Homeless in Trinity Church International in Florida serving meals, caring for them and dishing out love.
Another passion was working with young people. She served with the youth in Florida. She was affectionately known as “Nana” and lovingly listened to and hugged so many. If you were one of the lucky ones you also knew how fun and crazy she could be and have many cherished memories...long may they last.
But, her most important treasures were her children and grandchildren. Her daughter, Kristina Sherrett, has given her three grandchildren, Cole Sherrett, Skyler Sherrett, and Canyon Sherrett all of Garfield. Ethan and Laylah Murray, presently of Brandon, who were born in England, are her grandchildren from her daughter, Karen and son-in-law, Len Murray. Prior to their move to Brandon, their Nana would spend six months of the year living with them in England. They all knew her as crazy Nana who would do anything to make them happy. They were lucky to have so many years of fun and wonderful memories with their Nana. She will be sorely missed by all.
Pallbearers are Clinton Olive, Steven Olive, Cole Sherrett, Canyon Sherrett, Ethan Murray and Len Murray.
