Judith Ann Hemmerlin was born May 3, 1957, to Russel and JoAnn (Krause) Lindquist in Parkers Prairie. She was baptized June 9, 1957, and confirmed May 30, 1971, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie. Judy lived in Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri with her mom and dad who ran a bait shop there for seven years. They returned to Minnesota in 1963, and Judy attended Parkers Prairie Public Schools where she graduated in 1975. She was the Parkers Prairie High School mascot, a tennis player and active in Future Homemakers of America. She attended St. Cloud State University from 1975 - 1979, and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Recreation with a minor in Drivers' Traffic Safety. She was united in marriage to Ralph Hemmerlin on October 4, 1980, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie. Following their marriage, Judy worked as the activities director at Knute Nelson in Alexandria for three years. She began working at the Parkers Prairie Productive Alternatives branch as program director in 1984. She and Ralph were blessed with two children, Justin in 1986, and Samantha in 1988. They moved to their farm outside of town in 1987. Her passion was helping others in need, no matter what their situations were. For 31 years, Judy dedicated her life to the community of Parkers Prairie and to PAI and its clients, where in addition to program director; she was also the public relations/special events coordinator and fundraiser. She had an incredible love for the great outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and planting flowers for herself and to share with others who enjoyed them. She loved spending time at the hunting cabin or on her patio with family by her side. Judy's love of travel was important to her, and she wanted her children to experience and appreciate the world at large. Her smile could fill a room and brighten the worst of days. She will long be remembered as a loving and supportive daughter, wife, mother, co-worker and friend.
She is preceded in death by her son, Justin in 2011; father, Russel; mother, JoAnn; step-father, Micky Koehn; father-in-law, Leo; and several aunts and uncles.
