Elda Ruckheim

Elda W. Ruckheim, age 100, of Parkers Prairie, died Tuesday, October 14, 2014, at St. William's Living Center.

Funeral services are 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 18, 2014, at St. James Lutheran Church, South Effington with Rev. Dennis Angland officiating. Music is provided by organist, Vickie Schauland. Burial is at the church cemetery.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m., Friday at Lind Family Funeral Home in Parkers Prairie and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Elda Wilhelmiena Ruckheim was born May 19, 1914, to Gustav and Emma (Hartfiel) Diedrich in Leaf Valley Township. She attended country school until eighth grade. Following her education she returned home to help on the farm. Elda was united in marriage to Waldemar Ruckheim September 15, 1937. Following their marriage she raised her family and helped her husband farm. She was known for being a hard worker and a very strong person who took care of many loved ones. Elda was a member of St. James Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sewing, embroidering, and baking. She loved working in her large vegetable garden, canning and flowers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Violet; five brothers, William Diedrich, Herman Diedrich, Albert Diedrich, Clarence Diedrich and Gustav Diedrich; and five sisters, Mathilda Schmidt, Olga Freudenberg, Anna Diedrich, Adelia Freudenberg and Emma Raap.

Elda is survived by her son, Roger (Pat) Ruckheim of Parkers Prairie; three sisters-in-law, Verla Ruckheim of Parkers Prairie, Ivy Diedrich of Alexandria and Delphine Freudenberg of Eden Prairie; four grandchildren, Sandy Ruckheim of Parkers Prairie, Allan (Barb) Ruckheim of Burnsville, Gary (Jodie) Ruckheim of Parkers Prairie and Kenneth (Tania) Ruckheim of Miltona; and eight great-grandchildren, Tate, Kailee, Hanna, Grace, Jacob, Austin, Abbi and Zach.

Pallbearers are Allan Ruckheim, Gary Ruckheim, Kenneth Ruckheim, Tate Ruckheim, Austin Ruckheim and Jacob Ruckheim.
