Duwaine H. Pomeranz, age 87, of Garfield, died Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at the Evansville Care Center.

Funeral services are 11 a.m., Saturday, November 14, 2015, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Garfield with Rev. Benjamin Schimm officiating. Music is provided by organist, Irma Brockberg and vocalist, Larry Brustad. Burial is at the church cemetery.

Visitation is 4-6 p.m., Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Garfield and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Duwaine Herman Pomeranz was born March 20, 1928, to August and Rosie (Kemnitz) Pomeranz at home in Douglas County. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Garfield. He attended St. John's School for six years and then School District #17. Following his education, he farmed. He was united in marriage to Lois Brueske, and they were blessed with two children, Bonnie and Randy. Duwaine was a life-long farmer and member of St. John's Lutheran Church. He was united in marriage to Juliana (Daas) Wibstad on November 20, 1993, in Brandon. Following their marriage they continued living in Garfield until his death. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and dancing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Lois in 1992; brothers-in-law, Ray Olson and Warren Augdahl; sister-in-law, June Pomeranz; stepdaughter, Lynnette Wibstad; step-grandson-in-law, Kevin Eddy; step-great-grandson, Chad Eddy; along with many other relatives.

Duwaine is survived by his wife of 21 years, Juliana; daughter, Bonnie (Dick) Miller of Garfield; son, Randy Pomeranz of Nome, Alaska; four stepsons, Michael (ReNae) Wibstad of Annandale, Brian Wibstad of Alexandria, Keith Wibstad of Maple Lake and Timothy (Karen) Wibstad of Brandon; stepdaughter, Janell Eddy of Garfield; two brothers, Delmer (Florence) Pomeranz of Parkers Prairie and Roy (Joy) Pomeranz of Bertha; two sisters, Norma Olson of Alexandria and Patricia (Roger) Reents of Glenwood; sister-in-law, Lorraine Augdahl; nine grandchildren, Jennifer (Dan) Janke, Kristin (Ron) Welle, Alison (Jake) Beving, Derek (friend, Whitney) Miller, Ashley (Brouns) Olanna, Rachel Pomeranz, Taylor Pomeranz, Jacob (friend, Clare) Pomeranz, and Heather (friend, Ben) Pomeranz; and five great-grandchildren, Kaleb Janke, Mason Janke, Hadley Beving, Klay Olanna, and Noah Olanna; nine step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Brouns Olanna, Jake Beving, Dan Janke, Ron Welle, Jacob Pomeranz and Derek Miller. Honorary pallbearers are his son, daughter, son-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
