Cheri L.H. Tomford, age 57, of Parkers Prairie, died Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at St. Cloud Hospital.

Funeral Services are 10 a.m., Saturday, October 10, 2015, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie with Rev. Kirk Lee officiating. Music is provided by organist, Maureen Diedrich and soloists, Shelly Luedeke and Charlie Christopherson. Burial is Mt. Calvary Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the church.

Cheri Lee Hjelm Tomford was born on June 9, 1958, to Chester and Charlotte (Uhde) Hjelm at Lady of Mercy Hospital in Alexandria. She was baptized and confirmed at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Miltona. Cheri attended Miltona Elementary School, Central Junior High School, and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1976. Cheri developed her love for farming when she spent summers on her grandparent's farm taking care of the animals. Following her graduation, she moved to the farm to help care for her grandparents and took over the farm after her grandpa's death. She was united in marriage to Lonnie Tomford on November 25, 2006, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. Cheri also spent her life working at her parent's restaurant, Chet's Lakeside Inn where she became manager with Lonnie in 2007. She had three passions in life; the farm, working at Chet's Lakeside, and being a team member with Young Living Oils for the past five years. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church and the Miltona Lion's Club. Cheri enjoyed farming, playing with her cats and dogs, and fishing. She especially loved kayaking at Glendalough State Park which she considered, "heaven on earth."

She was preceded in death by her father, Chester; sister, Carolea; grandpa, Archie Uhde; grandma Bertha Uhde; aunt and uncle, Roy and Mary Hjelm; special aunt, Susie Kalpin; cousin (adopted brother), Keith Anderson; and other loved aunts and uncles.

Cheri is survived by her husband of eight years, Lonnie; mother, Charlotte Hjelm of Parkers Prairie; step-children, Brady Tomford and Lexi Tomford both of Thief River Falls; sister, Cindy (Leon) Wunderlich of Parkers Prairie; niece, Sheila (Dusty) Schilling; nephew, Scotty (Julie Cowen) Wunderlich; great-niece, Brook Schilling; great-nephew, Luke Schilling; very special auntie Maureen and uncle Chuck; and Sue Anderson, who was like a sister.

Pallbearers are Scotty Wunderlich, Leon Wunderlich, Dusty Schilling, Ben Daker, Isaac Christensen, Michael Anderson, Brent Meinert, and Matt Bonds.
