Ardith Ardella Munsterman was born to Henry and Viola (Grages) Munsterman near Appleton, Minnesota on December 14th, 1932. She was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Shible Township on January 4th, 1933. She was a graduate of Appleton High School in 1950. She attended Concordia Teacher's College in River Forest, Illinois, and taught at Red Wing and Brownton, Minnesota. On October 4th, 1953, she married Norman Barge at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Shible Township.

While they lived in Wood Lake, Minnesota Norman and Ardith were blessed with six children, Nita, Cheryl, Bruce, Miriam, Melanie, and Darcy. Ardith was dedicated to her children and her family. She was also dedicated to her ministry of prayer and Bible study. Ardith was known for her coffee cakes, caramel rolls, and homemade quilts.

Ardith often spoke of being polished and prepared for the heavenly mansions that her Jesus had in store for her and on the morning of July 25th, with her family beside her, she departed for those mansions.

Ardith is survived by her husband of 61 years, Norman; children, Nita (Ken) Drews of Parkers Prairie, Bruce (Carol) Barge of Pasadena, California, Miriam (David) West of Minneapolis, Melanie (Dan) Leger of Laporte, and Darcy (Alan) Peppersack of Parkers Prairie; siblings, Audrey Leonard of Greeley, Colorado, Roger (Peggy) Munsterman of Evans, Colorado, David (Lil) Munstermann of Thornton, Colorado, and Dennis (Yvonne) Munsterman of Appleton, Minnesota; grandchildren, Rachel (John Landefeld) Barge, Matthew Barge, Amanda Leger, Laura (Nathan) Westad, Sarah (Patrick) Mischke, Ryan Peppersack, and Skyler West; one great-granddaughter, Tenley Westad; and a great-grandson, Westad, to be born soon.

She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Viola; baby sister, Viola; and daughter Cheryl.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be the Bible Breakfast group.

Funeral Services are 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 28, 2014, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie with Rev. Kirk Lee officiating. Music is provided by organist, Gloria Hollatz, and vocalist, Amanda Leger. Burial is at Parkers Prairie Cemetery.
