Raymond H. Stoeck, age 87, of Miltona, died Friday, April 6, 2018, at Knute Nelson in Alexandria.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Miltona with Rev. Terry Finnern officiating. Music will be provided by organist, Deb Joachim. Burial will take place at Mount Calvary Lutheran Cemetery with full military honors accorded by the Minnesota Honor Guard, American Legion Post #87, Veteran of Foreign Wars Post #936, Vietnam Veterans of American Chapter #235, and the Marine Corps League Detachment #1409.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m., Tuesday at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church and will continue one hour prior to the service.
Raymond Henry Stoeck was born November 9, 1930, to William and Ella (Wunderlich) Stoeck in Carlos Township. He attended Carlos Country School and helped his parents on the farm after his education. He then joined the United States Army, serving our country for two years. In 1953, Raymond married his sweetheart, Doris Brede at Mount Calvary Church in Miltona. The newlyweds took over his parent’s farm. Raymond worked for Douglas County Highway for 30 years until his retirement. Raymond enjoyed dancing, fishing, reading, working on crossword puzzles, summers in the camper and trips to casinos. He especially enjoyed visiting with friends, but most of all spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and granddaughter, Hanna Stoeck.
Raymond is survived by his wife of 63 years, Doris; son, Donald Stoeck of Miltona; daughter, Diane (David) Kreidler of Clarissa; grandchildren, Shelly (Tony) Kassa of Bluffton, Louis (Kim) Kreidler of Long Prairie, Jennifer (Josh) Rowe of Browerville, and Serena Stoeck of Shelly; and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Louis Kreidler, Tony Kassa, Josh Rowe, Leon Wunderlich, Grant Wunderlich, and Steve Olsen. Honorary pallbearers are Ashley Kassa, Nathan, Kassa, Justin Kassa, Steven Rowe, Abby Rowe, and Tyler Rowe.
